Ansaldo STS, listed on the Milan stock exchange, acts as both main contractor and systems integrator, providing turnkey solutions in major projects worldwide.

In the United States, Ansaldo STS has a long history of pioneering innovations, which began in 1881 when Union Switch & Signal (now Ansaldo STS) was founded by George Westinghouse. Ansaldo STS products and control systems are in operation with every Class I railroad in North America, and with numerous rail transit operators in North America and around the world. Ansaldo STS can act as a turnkey transportation solution provider for metros and high speed lines or provide a wide array of products, including MicroLok® II wayside control systems, VitalNet™ PTC solutions, M-Style switch machines, solid state relays, track circuits, gate mechanisms, MicroCab® cab signaling systems and various carborne and signaling systems. Ansaldo STS is also a leading provider of dispatching and operation control centers and has regional service locations to accommodate maintenance and repair needs. These advancements in technology have created a new generation of products for the rail industry, from advanced electromechanical and microprocessor based hardware, to complex, software intensive command and control systems.
